About FreeCVT

FreeCVT is a privacy-first platform of free online file converters. We built it because the leading converter sites all do the same thing: upload your file to a server, process it, and send it back. That means your documents, photos, audio, and video briefly pass through someone else's data center.

We do it differently. Every converter on FreeCVT runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly (WASM). Your files are converted locally on your device — they never touch a server. Nothing is uploaded. Nothing is logged.

Open by design

FreeCVT operates as a public utility. We may add premium options in the future (large-file cloud conversion, API access, batch queue) to keep the project sustainable — but core local conversion will always remain free, private, and unlimited.
